根据几位博友的要求,也是受夏校长的激励,简要地提出推荐几本书,供参考。没有时间深度分析,所以只是简要说明。
若你是新手,或者对于教学的一般方法还不熟悉,建议阅读课堂教学的入门书,如:
比较浅显的一本是How to Teach English by Jeremy Harmer,这是一部不太厚、但比较经典的入门书,从课堂教学的各个方面给予指导,理念基本上是交际思想的。
比较深一点的有A course in Language Teaching: Practice and Theory by Penny Ur,这本书比前一本厚一些,观点新一些,也更实用一些。
若你英文不足以完全理解这些书,可以读国内用中文出版的教学法书籍,当然我要推荐我和王笃勤教授合作编写的《新编英语教学论》,观点比较新,而且比较实用。
若你是学过教学法,要读一些研究生阶段的专业书,建议阅读大家的著作,如:
要了解教学法的发展,必读Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching by Jack Richards & Theodore Rodgers,作者本身是大家,而且所介绍的也是经典流派。另外Howatt的History of English Language Teaching也值得一读,但不如这一本。
要了解基本思想,建议读Stern的Fundamental Concepts of Language Teaching,该书视野开阔,从多学科论述外语教学的基本概念。这位先生去世得早,要不现在影响肯定更大。
也应读Rod Ellis的The Study of Second Language Acquisition,这是个大部头,时间不足可以读他的另一著作Understanding Second Language Acquisition,这书简单得多。
要了解交际思想,可读这些书:
Henry Widdowson, Teaching English as Communication,
Henry Widdowson, Aspects of Language Teaching
C. Brumfit, The Communicative Approach to Language Teaching
C. Brumfit, Communicative Methodology in Language Teaching
这项著作时间早一些,多是70、80年代的,都是经典可以了解。现在很多人不大提Widdowson了,其实超越他并不容易。
